  1. Using Internet of Things to centralize freight availability.

Every day we pass empty westbound trucks while we are empty going eastward. It is time for a central load board. The fuel savings alone would make this worth it. And not nickle and dime the drivers to death to access this info, as is done now. The worth of this in fuel and time savings should have this pay for itself in a very short time. The barrier is territorial, where each companies customer is at risk for being "stolen". But, then again, each time they broker, is a risk.

      • Getting these good ideas to the staffs of logistics companies

Our experience as Cargo Relocation Engineers is that all this good advice and info are flying off into lala land. Hardly anyone in the logistics chain acts within the customer service paradigm.
Inbound Logistics needs to target brokers and ceo's of carriers. Get them to seminars, illustrate the benefits like sigma 7, rewarding service at all levels. Until you can change the paradigm of " the cheaper the better", which is the what rules logistics currently, nothing will change and it needs to change to reflect your spot on observations.

        • How to Determine Whether Your Freight Broker Is Legitimate

Information in this article by Svetlana, as a contributer of Bryant Surety Bonds which states Broker must have insurance is absolutely bogus. Can I see her Regulation that requires brokers to have insurance. She will find no Federal Statute or Regulation reqiuiring licensed and bonded brokers to HAVE insurance

          • Either make the survey printable or savable

Since we always have to do research, we have to start and stop the survey. If it were printable or savable, either one, we would have a way to record what we knew so far and not have to start again from scratch each time we went into the application.

            • Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for making such a great magazine! I teach Supply Chain Management at State College High School and am always looking for relevant stories and cases to share with my students. I require my students to also read the magazine on their own time and visit the website frequently. I have found the stories very useful and fun for my high school students to read. Thanks for being a great resource!
